Kami is the former drummer of the Japanese visual kei rock band Malice Mizer. He was born on February 1, 1966, in the Hyogo Prefecture of Japan, and his real name was Hisashi Takai. Kami joined Malice Mizer in 1992 and remained with the band until his sudden death on June 21, 1999, at the age of 33.
Kami played an integral role in Malice Mizer's sound, characterized by its fusion of rock, pop, classical, and electronic music, with dramatic and theatrical elements inspired by Kabuki and Gothic aesthetics. He was known for his precise and skillful drumming techniques, as well as his flamboyant appearance, dressing in extravagant costumes and makeup.
